Editing Online Photo Galleries
- Begin by organizing the images you wish to upload to your new gallery page. Create a folder on your windows desktop (or another convenient location). Give this folder an appropriate name for the contents of your gallery. In this case, we will call it "ExampleGallery". Don't use any spaces or special characters when naming this folder.
- Fill this new folder with the images that will appear in the gallery.
- Once your image folder is prepared, follow this
link to the gallery uploads
section of the Rotary website.
- Drag your folder (in this case, "ExampleGallery") to the gallery uploads section that you just opened. This will upload all of your images to the Rotary server.
- Now that your images are uploaded, you are ready to create a new gallery for users to view them. Begin by opening the Contribute content management software.
- Once in Contribute, select the Gate City Rotary Club site from the "begin
editing my websites" menu:

- Selecting the Gate City Rotary Club site from this menu will bring up the
website in Contribute:

- Select the Event Gallery section:

- Choose create new page :

- Choose the "gallery" template:

- You must change the "title" of the gallery to be the name of your gallery folder (in this case, "ExampleGallery"). Type in the title and choose OK:
- After selecting OK, you will be taken to your new gallery page. The page will not display the images until it has been published. However, this is where you can change the heading of your image gallery - this will be the bold title at the top of your gallery when viewed on the web. For this example, we'll change it to Example Rotary Gallery. You may use spaces and other special characters in this title. Type in your title and choose Publish:
- You should now see your finished gallery page:
- The only thing remaining is to create a link from the main gallery page to your newly created gallery. Do this by returning to the "Events Gallery" link:
- Choose "edit page":
- Type in your new link:
- Select your new link:
- Click on the "insert" menu at the top of the screen. Choose Insert->Link->Drafts and Recent Pages:
- Choose your newly created gallery page (in this case, "ExampleGallery") and choose OK:
- Publish the Gallery page:
