New 2008-2009 Grant Request form is now available - requests are due by November 1, 2008
The Gate City Rotary Club Supports the Following Charitable Organizations:
Theo's Work
Theo's Work is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 to support humanitarian efforts in southern Haiti. Haiti is the most impoverished nation in the western hemisphere and is the third poorest nation in the world. Many people live on less that $1 US per day anbd this abject poverty is particularly devastating to the children.
The primary focus of Theo's Work Inc. is to help Haiti's street children:
- Malnutrition has stunted the growth of 50% of Haitian children under the age of 5.
- 129 out of 1,000 Haitian children will die before their 5th birthday.
Gate City Rotary along with US Rotary Clubs and Rotary International will support in 2006 a program to provide clean water, plants and animals for food for the Theo's Work orphanage.
